Tell me, did the world go fekkin mad in the night or something?
Here's a 'story' with some of the names and time lines changed to protect the seriously stupid.
Roberto rang two months ago to say Giselle had just been diagnosed with breast cancer. Roberto, a QiGong master and macrobiotic, wanted to know if I thought that taking her (Giselle) to Mexico to see a shaman would be beneficial to her recovery as he didn't believe in doing the 'allopathic' route.
After some consideration (approx. 0.000456 secs) I told him to book her into the best private clinic I could think of and get the bloody thing out of her. Then, and only then, could he think about alternative therapies.
Needless to say he ignored my advise on the grounds that it conflicted with his interests, not Giselle's mind you, who wanted to stay alive.
So, they went to Mexico and now she's dead.
Which part of 'fekkin stupid' needs to be spelt out.
I don't care how pagan you are, there are times in your life when allopathic care is the only chance you have. It doesn't matter if some voodoo queen from Milton Keynes tells you that it is a spell caste on you by someone from a previous life. The damage is done and you will die if you don't sort it out.
Full stop!
Complementary care is just that, it complements other treatments, just as the physician of old complemented the surgeon.
If you let someone die because of your beliefs you are guilty of murder.
Yes, sometimes you will suffer the slings and arrows of outrageous fortune, and the time to catch them magically, psychically or spiritually is whilst they are embedded in those areas. As soon as dis-ease manifests as a physical trauma you MUST seek the advise of those who deal in such things. Treat your doctor just as you would your Reiki practitioner or acupuncturist. They are trained to do a specific type of healing - use it wisely.
Or end up like the beautiful Giselle, a cold lifeless corpse sacrificed upon the altar of well considered idiocy.
