Chakras and stuff...

I haven't written anything for a while so a reply-post to another board has stimulated me into action :)

Chakras tend to be one of those misunderstood things that sit at the back of our minds, we know they are there and we read all sorts of stuff about them and yet they remain a bit of an enigma. The following note is based upon the teachings I received and my own observations, it doesn't make it 'right' nor do I claim it to be so; yet it is one that is both elegant and suits me just fine.

First let us begin by saying that you (as Spirit) do not inhabit your body i.e. you are not on the inside. As a multi-dimensional Being it would be like cramming ten gallons into a pint pot, so you stay on the outside. You in essence 'enfold' the physical form and connect to it through lines of energy, like a puppet master. These lines of energy (communication lines) connect to the body through a whole range of chakras (communication ports) and allow communication between you (the Spirit) and you (the Body).

I kept repeating 'communication' for a reason, in the hope you see that the whole purpose of chakras is to convert spirit communication into physical 3-dimensional action and vice versa. So, chakras are little switchboards converting one form of energy into another and that is all. The interpretation of those commands is done by the central processing unit or 'brain'.

As simple analogy. I (Spirit) sit here and type this out for you (Body) to read. My actions are converted by my pc (Chakra) into electrical sequences of binary code which is passed to the brain of the computer (CPU). This then determines where the information will go and in what form. You (Body) then receive that information in a way you understand.

Chakras are no more or less than that.

The auric 'sheath' that can be felt some distance from a persons body is actually the boundary layer of Spirit and the auric 'field' within is the human perception of spirit communicating with its body. As it is perceived through the human form we see the auric field as swirling colour that, with practise, can be interpreted as the current 'mood' of the person being observed.

Physical/mental illness can affect the chakras in the sense they become distorted and filter the information flow based upon the dis-ease incurred. As different chakras connect to differing zones they have an 'affinity of communication' to that area. i.e. the throat chakra directly affects speech, swallowing and aspects of breath (there are more).

Information is routed through the body by a matrix of energy lines all to familiar to acupuncturists or practitioners who manipulate Qi. The points on the body providing 'switching' areas that allow us to re-route energy to zones that may need it in times of body crisis.

A person who is 'mute' has a permanently closed throat chakra, a person who is blind has the twin eye chakras permanently closed.

Here we come to a sticky subject.

In all my years in the 'game' I occasionally come across individuals who, for their own reasons, tell me that my base chakra, or some other location, is blocked. Now, your heart chakra(s) open and close with every heart beat; if they were to stay closed/open you would die of a heart attack. Similarly a closed base chakra would leave you a paraplegic, whilst one that was 'jammed open' would leave you insane.

I would hazard a guess that anyone telling you that your base chakra is closed wants to get into your underwear :)

Given the above what is the best way to keep these communication lines open so that we (spirit) can aid healing of our bodies and best promote good 'causative' magic?

Practices such as Tai Qi, Qi Gong and Bu Qi all teach control of the pathways. They help promote good communication between Spirit and Body. The classic Middle Pillar exercise also promotes health in the primary seven chakras whilst Acupuncture and Shiatzu can be used as a last resort to tackle imbedded dis-ease. The switchboard of the brain needs exercise too, so study and problem solving, art and crafts can keep the pathways 'greased'.

How you 'see' the world affects the chakras only in that our 'view' creates filters that only allow certain information to flow back and forth. Developing a rounded view of life ensures the healthy communication of Spirit-Body, whilst bias creates dis-order.

Working on your chakras should not be seen as an end result, but merely as an exercise that will lead you to a more fulfilling and creative/causal life.
